Steve Thompson the Bluebirds recent signing from Rangers marked his debut with two goals in an emphatice three nil win over fellow play off hopefuls Burnley. Jason Koumas netted the third in front of 10,872 fans.

This result and second half performance put the smiles back on the faces of the 10,000 city fans who decided to watch this match instead of the egg chasing at the Arms Park or stay in the pub after the Manchester derby. The first half was nothing special but three goals in a five minute spell sent the fans home happy and we have a new goalscoring hero in ex Rangers man - Stevie Thompson. His first was taken well, although after a possible foul on the Burnley keeper by Jerome. However his second was an absoulute cracker and worth the admission money alone! The third goal for City scored by Koumas put the game beyond Burnley who never looked like getting one goal in all honesty!
