Cardiff City gained another point to match Preston and gain a march on Wolves who lost, but it was another dour struggle at a rain sodden Ninian Park on Saturday afternoon. Free tickets for children swelled the crowd to over 14,000 but it was not just the attendance that was disappointing, our push for the play offs is most welcome but the football just isn't winning friends...

In a closely fought contest a draw was a fair result but chances for either side were few and far between, and even the big screen showed the fans streaming out onto Sloper Road with nearly ten minutes of action left. The club's initiative to boost the crowd had worked to a certain extent but the anticipated full house didn't materialise and for the regulars it was another afternoon of frustration. Camerone Jerome was guilty of another glaring miss to add to his howler last week, and once again Neil Alexander was in good form when called upon.

A point is most welcome, but surely David Jones must be encouraged to experiment a little more and also make some substitutions! The one he made today bring on Rhys Weston didn't exactly fire the crowds enthusiasm.

Still we must be positive it's another point and as most other teams around us could do no better, and in the case of Wolves they did worse, our outside shot at the play-offs is still on course. A win for improving Crewe at Preston on Tuesday would make things very interesting!

Back to the crowd issue - if we can't get more than 14,271 with every paying adult allowed to bring in two kids fo nothing I am really beginning to doubt if we deserve to be thinking about the Premiership. Sam and the board must have been very disappointed. I was.
