CCFC outfought by CCFC!

Another match and another poor result - Cardiff City fans are getting used to being beaten at the moment. The season has ended on a real downer and will do little to spark interest in season ticket sales from those not already committed to the cause...

Coventry City 3-1 Cardiff City 22,536

The Bluebirds season ended with their fifth defeat in six games and for all the talk of a play off push the club end the season in 11th place and 15 points from the play offs. The last time the Bluebirds won was at Plymouth since then they have taken two points from the 21 available.

Their points total of 60 reflects a miserable end to a season which at one stage promised much. The style of play hasn’t been too attractive but for a time it was getting results, although you have to feel that the luck couldn’t last and it didn’t. The end of the season obviously couldn’t come fast enough for some players, and a lot of them will be lucky to have contracts renewed for next season. The support as previously reported has fallen dramatically, however the fans who have stayed loyal to the team deserve a damn sight better than has been served up over the last few weeks.

The result at Coventry was never in doubt, a home banker if ever there was one. Coventry have finished the season strongly and have overtaken Cardiff to finish in the top ten. Whilst the Bluebirds look totally lacklustre and some would say disinterested! At least the team did battle back to equalise through a Steve Thompson tap in although the game drifted away from them in the second half.

The final table shows them in eleventh place –
