Southend United Grab a point at the Hawthorns, with a 82nd minute equalizer. Albion had earlier taken the lead just on the hour through Nathan Ellington.

Southend United Substitute Matt Harrold Came of the bench in the 72 minute, and 10 minutes later scored to send Steve Tilson side home with a point.
It was Southends first away point of the season, as the newly promoted side look to establish themselves in this division.
In doing so, it ended last years premier outfits 100% home record after we had won our previous 3 home games.

Nathan Ellington had earlier given us the lead with a brilliant angled drive from about 20 yards just on the hour (61mins) and Kevin Philips was unlucky not to have added to his goals tally with two attempts. one hitting the post.

Its another poor show from Albion, although an improvement on the last few home games. Especially after the midweek defeat by Preston North End. And so much talk from within the camp on how important it was to bounce back from that defeat.

Boss (time to go) Bryan Robson said after the Game,
"We did not capitalise on the chances and that cost us. But I'm sure our luck in front of goal will change. "Our main problem is we are missing too many chances and giving the opposition a chance that they are taking. "We have to start killing games off. You can't create as many chances as we did and not convert them."

Angry Albion fans, who are now growing in numbers at the way our beloved team is slipping, showed their disgust by calling for Robbo to go.

But a defiant Robson said: "There is miles to go this season. That is just a bit of frustration from the fans. I will get on with the job".

"I would be disappointed if people thought we had not played some good football and created a lot of chances".

"We did not capitalise on the chances and that cost us. But I am sure that our luck in front of goal will change".

"We had good situations and on other days they will go in. So what I am after from the players is that we keep persevering."
