Young midfielder Kyle Lambert joined Leigh Genesis on 20th January 2009 and made his debut that evening in a 2-0 UniBond Premier League defeat to Prescot Cables.

An impressive performer for Rochdale's reserve team, Lambert made his professional debut for 'Dale during 2008/09, but appeared only once before joining Bradford Park Avenue on loan and later signing for Leigh after being released from his contract at Spotland.

Lambert scored his first goal for Leigh Genesis, ironically against former club Bradford Park Avenue, in a 2-1 UniBond Premier League defeat at the Horsfall Stadium in March 2009.
