Wirral-born youngster, formerly of Chester, who joined the Leigh Genesis Youth side for the 2010/2011 season and made his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 President's Cup defeat away to Skelmersdale United on Tuesday 21st September 2010.

Carey made his full debut in a 2-1 Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy defeat at home to neighbours Atherton Collieries on Tuesday 28th September 2010

Carey's league debut came as a substitute in a 2-0 Evo-Stik League Division One North defeat away to Curzon Ashton on Monday 8th November 2010, with his full league debut coming a 1-0 loss at home to Wakefield at Crilly Park on Monday 3rd January 2011.
