Shawbridge 0-2 AS Airdrie

Airdrie racked up another away 3 points to maintain an unbeaten start to the league campaign.

Airdrie started the game well and Scott Lindsay fired the away side in front after 15 minutes when Shawbridge failed to properly clear a set piece, Lindsay was able to collect the loose ball and turn and shoot from 14 yards out to find the bottom corner. A moment of controvosy arrived midway through the half, having just been cautioned for a cynical challenge on Shaw the same Player appeared to haul Shaw down as he raced clear of the defence with only the keeper to beat. The referee explained he felt Shaw was fouling the home player as much as he was being fouled. We disagree. the half wor on without much more incident.

Second half proved more decisive for Airdrie as they took comand of the game after a fairly even first half Shaw adams adn gray were working well as a unit and were ably backed up by the midfield as Airdrie pressed Shawbridge deep into ther own half in search of a kiler second goal. It duly arrived with 20 minutes to go as Ross graham's short Corner found Neil pardoe at the edge of the box and his centre flew over everybody abd into the top corner. Airdrie saw out the game after that as Shawbridge did little to break down a solid Airdrie defence.

A great win after such a  long lay off, hopefully we can take our good form into the Scottish Cup on saturday with a home tie V Corkerhill of the West of Scotland league. kick off is 2pm saturday 22nd at New Brooomfield.
