So we're almost there, the penultimate game of the season sees us take on East Fife with both teams fighting for a play off spot. In the three previous meetings Airdrie have won one of the matches away from home and drawn the two home games. In the first meeting East Fife took the lead scoring though Kevin Smith it was Iain Russell who gave Airdrie a share of the spoils with a second half penalty. In the second match Andy Ryan scored the only goal away from home after only 10 minutes. In the last game Andy Ryan once again opened the scoring only for East Fife's Jason Kerr and Ross Brown to give East Fife a 2-1 lead. Jack Leitch scored with a minute to go on the clock to earn a draw.

Prediction League

The defeat to Alloa last week meant that there was no change at the top of the prediction league however Diamond Sab and DiamondF16 have closed the gap to two points so there is everything to play for in the final two games of the season.

With two games to go eight competitors can still win the prediction league.

Aye easy win for Airdrie who played the conditions better ,Mensing had a good solid game, another three goals for Ryan, some strike from Russell for the forth goal ,just goes to shoe a wee break here and there and we looked quite a good team.well done the team and hope Wilson has a good night.

fantastic win - two strikers with 20 goals (almost) in a season - missed opportunity -we really should have been challenging at the top

Not taking gloss off today - to go away anywhere and win by 4 is a great result - although I would have had a coupon win if I hadn't been persuaded by the guy in paper telling me to take QP!!

A good 3 points, 4 goals and a clean sheet, this is what we should have been doing in most games, well done

The game was won from the penalty decision. Most of us had no idea why it was a penalty-shove? handball? deliberate goal scoring opportunity? but we took it gratefully. It was quite scrappy from both teams for the first 15 till a good move with Hutton/great cross by MacDonald and quick on to the chance by Ryan. The defence had looked solid playing against the wind and a bouncy pitch did not seem to suit either side till the first goal; East Fife were weaker than before for sure but after 2-0 it was composed and controlled by Airdrie. Great moving and passing by front three saw Ryan get the third, while Russells was a smashing effort. Could have been more. Even Radio Scotland had us as team of the day on Off the ball on way home, to celebrate our first away victory outside Lanarkshire for months. Sets up a home win for next week. Not to be churlish, it has put a gloss on much of our games, but at last I can smile. Big away support also. Well done to the team and MW
