Well ladies and gentleman have we proven our selves yet? We have held almost all of the top teams in the Bells First First Division and shown them all that even with the what is considered a reduced squad we are still in this league to be counted. What we need to do now is hold the teams we want to be above. The first quarter of the season is almost gone and we are sitting nice if not yet comfortable.

Queen of the South

V

Airdrie

Sandy Stewart

Sandy Stewart is looking to continue the fight after a battling display against Ross County on Friday night, our only doubt is Paul Lovering his continuing foot injury and lack of match fitness leaves David Dunn with out any competition for the Left back position. Lee Hollis is expected to return to the line up and continue as the Airdrie number 1.

I would also like to say I have never witnessed a good game of football in Dumfries so maybe, hopefully, please give us a decent game this week.

Opponents News: - Queen of the South

Queen of the South are in trouble, they are sitting at the bottom of the league and it looks like they have quite a few injury worries for our visit to Dumfries. The list is almost bigger than the Airdrie squad but here goes. Garry Wood, Steve Bowey (both suspended), Brian Reid (hamstring), Derek Lyle (ankle), Chris Carr (knee) and Stuart Lovell (calf) are all out.

Finally it looks like Willie Gibson will be risked although he is suffering from an injury to his arm.

 Prediction

We need to win our home games to stand a chance of progressing this season, so I have to go for a  3 - 1 to the Diamonds.
