Contracts Offered

Notttingham Forest have today officially announced the offer of new contracts to six players. The players are all currently at Nottingham Forest either on loan spells or with us on a permanent deal. So are these six players likely to sign for Forest? Or may we need to up some of our offers?

Today Nottingham Forest have confirmed the offer of contracts to six players, all are currently at the club. Gareth Williams, Barry Roche, Eoin Jess and Gregor Robertson have all been offered extensions to their current deals at the City Ground. Also the two Leicester boys who have both been cleared to leave the Foxes are now in contractual talks. Andy Impey and, Forest old boy, Alan Rogers were released by Micky Adams just a few days ago. But despite this news being officially broken there is as yet still no talk of Paul Gerrard, our goalie on loan from Everton.

So who is likely to sign?  Roche and Robertson would surprise me a great deal if they left the club at this stage of their young careers. Eoin Jess is also a fairly good bet to stay with the Reds, especially now Kinnear has been selecting him for the first team. Gareth Williams has expressed a feeling that he would like to stay at Forest, however surely he is capable of football at the lower end of the Premiership. Some excellent performances going forward in the second half of the season now leave us all wondering about Williams. This one's a 50/50, very hard to call, I'm going to say he'll stay but with very little confidence. Alan Rogers has clearly stated that he enjoyed his time at Forest and would love a permanent return to the City Ground. So if we put a good offer together for 'Tank' it's heighly likely he'll be wearing a red shirt next season. And finally Andy Impey, having been released by Leicester maybe he will feel his future lies at Forest. I wouldn't guarantee him here next season though. And given the information that Paul Gerrard has not been offered a contract it now seems certain that he is on his way back to Merseyside again.
