Kenny Lowe Quits

Kenny Lowe quit Barrow for, "work and family reasons". Barrow acted quick to replace him and appointed Lee Turnbull. Lowe had good season as manager finished second behind Accrington Stanley and one place ahead of Vauxhall.

Assistant manager Turnbull was made manager after Barrow chairman Brian Keen held a meeting with the Barrow board on Monday. This will be a blow for Bluebirds fans after already seeing striker Grant Holt move to Sheffield Wednesday. But Brian Keen is staying optimistic, “I have no doubt that we have made the best decision for the interests of Barrow AFC". Turnbull has already started plans to carry on the clubs success, Keen stated, "Lee was an ultimate professional in our meeting and has many exciting plans for the progression of the club. His ideas, contacts and enthusiasm are second to none and he already has several players lined up for next season.”

Keen was also quick to praise Kenny Lowe, “I would also like to place on record once again the club's thanks to Kenny for all his hard work and honesty. He has been a pleasure to work with and is a true gentlemen. He has always worked with the board and co-operated with any demands placed upon him. He will be missed but we respect his decision and in Lee we have the man to take the club forward again."
