Future Red Devil Fred had to watch from the sidelines as Brazil kicked-off their World Cup in Russia with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.

Runners-up in league and cup, not a great double...
For some clubs finishing second in the league and reaching a FA Cup final would be hailed as a success, unfortunately at Old Trafford that isn't the case. With Manchester City sweeping all before them in the Premier League, United had the chance to win some major silverware in the FA Cup but they fell short losing 1-0 in a very forgettable final tie against Chelsea at Wembley.
Second spot in the bag after bore draw at Irons
Manchester United secured second spot in the Premier League following a bore draw at David Moyes' West Ham, with goalkeepers David De Gea and Adrian unbeaten throughout.
United in another FA Cup final!
Manchester United will be back at Wembley on 19th May to play Chelsea in the FA Cup final. This is following a well deserved victory over Tottenham Hotspur by 2-1 in the semi final at Wembley last Saturday (21st April). Lifting the famous old trophy and finishing runners-up to neighbours City would give the club a good end to the season and continue to add to the trophy cabinet following two cup wins last season. This will be United's 20th final, equalling the record held by Arsenal.

Manchester United will play a series of friendly fixtures in the United States of America as part of their summer preparations for the 2018/19 season, with participation in the International Champions Cup again likely.

Tributes have been paid to former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins, after the England captain tragically died at the age of 61 in hospital.

Former Manchester United man Henrikh Mkhitaryan was on the scoresheet as Arsenal took a huge leap towards the Europa League quarter-finals with victory at the San Siro, against AC Milan.
United comeback from two down to win!!
This was one of the great comebacks! United were 2-0 down at Selhurst Park against a Crystal Palace side who had out muscled and out fought the Red Devils for the first half and the early minutes of the second half. The Eagles deservedly went in at the break with a one goal lead which quickly became two in the early minutes of the second half. United had played poorly and fans feared the worst but a sensational comeback was on the card and three points grabbed late in the match with a superb last minute blockbuster from Nemanja Matic, his first goal for the club could not have come at a better time.
Three away games in three competitions next...
After the win at Huddersfield & with the FA Cup draw panning out after relevant replays; Manchester United can look forward to a series of fixtures away from Old Trafford in various competitions. On 11th February the red devils travel to St James Park in Newcastle to take on the stuttering magpies in the Premier League. Kick off is 2.15pm. This is followed by a return match at Huddersfield in the FA Cup on 17th February. United will be keen to revenge a defeat in the premier league earlier this season. The third consecutive away match is the Champions League game v Sevilla on 21st February.
