United look to go six points clear

Manchester United will have the opportunity to open up a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League on Sunday. The Red Devils travel to Anfield to face fierce rivals Liverpool; safe in the knowledge that Arsenal dropped two points on Saturday with an eyebrow-raising 0-0 draw at home to Sunderland. United will again be without Rio Ferdinand, as well as his formiddable defensive partner Nemanja Vidic.
Ryan Giggs could make a club record 607th appearance on Sunday as United face bitter rivals Liverpool.
Three points for Sir Alex Ferguson's men will open up a six point lead over Arsenal, following their goalless stalemate at home to Sunderland on Saturday - though United will have played one game more than the Gunners after Sunday's match.
Wesley Brown and Chris Smalling could start at the back with United without club skipper Ferdinand and Serbian centre-half Vidic.
