Can City make it 4 in a row against Chesterfield?

Lincoln hope to replicate the last three matches that we've had against Chesterfield by beating the Spirites, City have won the last 3 meetings, scoring 4 in each of the last 2, how times have changed. The Imps haven't won since August 25th and the teams above us are VERY SLOWLY starting to pull away, so it's vital we get a win under our belts to avoid being left adrift.

In a surprising stat for you all, no opposition player has scored a goal at Sincil Bank from open play since September 7th. Since then the Imps have only conceded from the penalty spot, corners or own goals, which makes it even more frustrating that we haven't won in that time, securing just two draws and losing the rest.

However, that stat has a high chance of changing tonight as one of the most dangerous strike forces in League 2 comes to Sincil Bank. With the news that Steve Fletcher is going to start for the Spirites (according to Sky Sports anyway) it is likely that he will be partnering Jack Lester up front, two names that are familiar with City fans. Fletcher scored the first of Bournemouth's 5 in the 2003 Playoff Final, whereas Lester has had spells at Forest and Grimsby.

But that might count for nothing as City have faced quite a lot of supposedly decent strikers in recent weeks, and none have particulary impressed (famous last words).

There's a strange wave of optimism going around Sincil Bank at the minute despite the winless run. Performances at home have certainly improved recently and now we're starting to create more chances and actually look like scoring every time we go forward, however, that is pretty irrelevant if the ball isn't going in the net (or if we don't have Trevor "the incompetent winker" Kettle as ref) and that needs to be sorted.

With a very injury ravaged defence it is likely that Danny Hone will be giving his first ever start in an Imps shirt following an impressive appearance from the bench on Friday night. He will hopefully be partnered by Adie Moses who declared himself fit the other day. Croft and Green will more than likely be either side of that pairing, with those 4 in front of Marriott.

In midfield you'll probably have Neverpassestheball'Guessan, Frecklington, Kerr and Hand, with Torpey and Dodds more than likely starting up front.
