Defender : Lee Beevers

Lee Beevers is a hugely popular player at Sincil Bank thanks to his committed performances on the field, and he is currently the second longest serving player at Alan Marriott. The signing from Boston in February 2005 came as a huge surprise to everyone, but after a shaky start he is now one of the established fan favourites for the Imps.

In February 2005 the Imps defeated Boston United in the middle of a brilliant run of form for City, but the absense of Lee Beevers from the Boston lineup puzzled many Boston fans as he hadn't been injured or suspended. A few days later and he appears on City's official website having agreed to join the Imps for a fee believed to be around £50,000.

His appearances in his first season were few and far between in his first season thanks to international call-ups to the Welsh Under 21s. The following season saw him become more of a first team player but he was heavily slatted by sections of the crowd and blamed for the mistakes of other defenders.

The 2006/7 season was very different though and having been moved into his prefered right back position, the youngster suddenly turned into one of the main reasons that the Imps turned from a team that chased the lower reaches of the Playoff places to a side that were serious contenders for automatic promotion.

His gritted out performances and "die for the shirt" attitude won over his previous doubters enough and he was voted as Player of the Season for the 2006/7 season, beating off stiff competition from Jamie Forrester, Mark Stallard and Lee Frecklington to name just 3.

Due to major movements in the transfer market at the club Beevers became the longest serving player at one point but at the end of the 2008/9 season he wasn't offered a new contract. Peter Jackson said he would allow Beevers to look for another club but if he couldn't find one, he would be more than welcome back at Lincoln. He quickly joined Colchester.
