Lincoln City could be set to miss out on the signature of Matt Hamshaw. The midfielder has told the Nottingham Post that Notts County are now the favourites to secure his signature and it's now unlikely that he will be in the red and white of Lincoln next season.
Despite saying in the Echo just weeks ago that he would love to play for Lincoln City, he has now said to the Nottingham Post that he wants to play at Meadow Lane next season.
"I am very interested in playing for them next season. I have spoken to the assistant manager and Tommy Johnson, because the manager was away on holiday. I was meant to meet the manager this week, but I have just come back off holiday with food poisoning so I have had to cancel it."
"I have got a couple of other clubs to speak to. Notts County is at the top of my short-list."
This might not be a bad thing for City due to Hamshaw's habit of only playing for League 2 teams who struggle against relegation. In that sense it seems almost appropriate that he wants to play for Notts County, a side that have been looking over their shoulders ever since returning to this division 4 years ago.

Boulding for instance, we are having talks, if we are still interested after the talks, and make him an offer then he goes elsewhere, we have have missed out.
I would stay clear because a lot of fans from both Stags and Stocky have said what sort of player he is and that he only plays in the games that he wants to. I dont doubt PJ could get something out of him, but why risk it?
Both these setes of fans were happy whilst he was playing for them though. Any one who buys him knows what they are getting, a matchwinner on his day but his days are numbered.
