Reaction to the Barnet game

Lincoln recorded their second win in a row with a 2-1 win at Barnet. It was another in a chain of matches where the Imps are creating chances on a regular basis, it was also the last time we'll see the waste of space called Nathan Baker before he returns to Aston Villa.
You know what seems strange, the fact that we've only lost two League games since a 3-1 defeat at Morecambe at the end of October. I'll happily admit I was sceptical about Chris Sutton as my jury was certainly still out after the game against Rochdale, but ever since then I can have no complaint whatsoever. City's last three games have seen a creditable performance against Bolton, and six well earned points against Chesterfield and Barnet....although both games have seen us gain a lot of luck.
I am now fully confident that we can survive this season. The fact that Gary Glitter is more likely to be placed in charge of kids TV than Grimsby are of winning a game at the moment, certainly adds to that fact. Infact, you'd have to go way, way back to September 19th to find the last time that Grimsby won a game in the League, it does make you wonder if that run will continue for another month to when the Imps visit Blundell Park. You never know, if we can hit top form then we might even finish in the top half......hell, if Lenny John-Lewis can score than anything can happen.
Anyway, onto the Barnet game. I think we were slightly fortunate as the referee seemed to favour us and Barnet would certainly feel aggrieved about some of the decisions, but fuck it, how many times have we had shit refs against us? It's about time we were on the positive end of a bad refereeing performance. There was one moment that made me laugh in the second half. The ball looked like going out for a throw but got stuck in the mud, but the Barnet player hadn't been paying attention and picked it up.....the referee gave a free kick and the Barnet fans chanted "You don't know what you're doing!" ..... well he's your player :P
The new players are all seemingly fitting in well, with Anderson and Saunders particularly impressing on their League debuts. Uwezu also made his debut but I'm still a bit unsure about him to be honest, he's fast but doesn't really do much else......he's like a Nigerian version of Asamoah. It's a pity that we didn't see Keltie get involved, but given that he hasn't played in quite some time, it was hardly surprising.
In recent weeks I've not had a lot of negative things to say really, but replacing Facey with John-Lewis is like replacing your lard-only diet with ipecac drinks. I'm not going to pretend I think John-Lewis a good player and one goal won't change that. It's similar to Facey, just because he scores a goal, it doesn't make him good all of a sudden. Anyone who seriously expects John-Lewis to suddenly turn into a wonder kid really needs to look at the fact he hadn't scored since December 28th 2008....and that was an open goal.
Other than that, I've got nothing to really complain about, infact, I'm in delirium as I never have to see Nathan Baker in a Lincoln shirt again.

34 - Chris Herd | 8 | I still think he is the best outfield player we currently have and I would love to see him here on a permanent basis. Love his energy levels and his eye for a pass. He was unlucky not to score a goal or two against Barnet. |
35 - Brian Gilmour | 5 | Largely anonymous and it wasn't a surprise to see him gone at half time. |
38 - Joe Anderson | 7 | Good solid defending with well timed tackles. Great cross for the goal. |
39 - Matt Saunders | 7.5 | Did well linking up the midfield with the attack, but can't take a set-piece to save his life. |
37 - Michael Uwezu | 5 | Chased the ball a lot, but didn't actually seem to do a lot. |

another good performance from the team!
He threw himself into tonnes of challenges yesterday and make 1 or 2 important blocks.
Interesting as it was officially classed as an emergency loan and they can only be for a maximum of 93 days (which expires Friday).
Although there have been rule changes on loans this season so whether that's one of them I don't know.
Maybe the emergency loan is only outside of the transfer window?

I can see them getting a point at best out of that lot. Im sure theyll find some form by the time we head up there though!
Although they did win 2-0 at Notts towards the end of last season......something which they have a massive poster of in their ticket office.
Baker was a 6.5 for me. comitted and threw himself into block. him and Watts won most of the headers (Other than the one that went in)
Herd was class. in a packed midfield he always wanted the ball, had a turn and found a player or space,
Cian is getting better all the time, he reads the game well as was always the player in space.
Once we realised all Barnet did all game was ping it down the left wing we were ok.
I could have sworn it was Gilmour who threaded through the ball for Houghton to score?
