Former City man in charge at Luton

Former Lincoln City midfielder Gary Brabin has been named as the new temporary manager of Blue Square side Luton after they parted with Richard Money. Brabin has a good record in management after taking Southport and Cambridge to the Playoffs of their respective divisions within twelve months of each other.

Brabin reached two consecutive Playoffs with Southport and Cambridge, neither ending in victory, but it was a good first two seasons in management for the former Lincoln striker. He left Cambridge after that final defeat and got to the latter stages of City's managerial interviews before Chris Sutton was eventually appointed.

He is now in charge at Luton until the end of the season following the surprise departure of Richard Money, with the Kenilworth Road club still in with an outside shot of the title.

Gary Sweet (Managing Director for Luton) spoke highly of Brabin.

"Gary's credentials are there for all to see," said Sweet. "He has worked with the players for over a year, knows the club and knows the task in hand. We need everyone to step up to the plate - players staff and supporters - because we all know what is at stake. We have a run-in that will be used to firstly secure the minimum of a play-off place, and then prepare for those head-to-head games."
