One of the last of a dying breed has finally retired from management but how will his club fair without him at the helm? Love him or hate him, Fry was one of the true characters in football and now Peterborough face life in a new division without him, so how will they cope exactly?

Last Season Peterborough didn’t suffer ANY inconsistency last season, infact, they were so consistent that only one did they win, and not go on a non-winning streak of anywhere from 2 to 14 games. Peterborough were a frustrating side for their side to watch and even occasionally pulled off a decent result, 4-0 at home to Port Vale and a shock 1-0 victory at Bournemouth were probably the main highlights of last season.

 

However, moments like those were few and very far between and although they only suffered 9 defeats by 2 or more goals, they only won 9 games all season and returned to this division after a 6 year absence.

 

This season? Ding dong Barry’s gone, well almost. Barry Fry has now left the managerial hotseat and handed it over to Mark Wright. It’s been no secret that Peterborough fans have blamed Fry for all the club’s problems in the last few years and now, one of the true characters in football, has brought his beloved Peterborough United.

 

Wright has gone straight about signing some of the best talent available on a free transfer including City’s Peter Gain and Oldham’s Dean Holden in an attempt to get back into League 1 at the first attempt. Under Wright’s super vision, Chester won the conference by a country mile a few years ago and a promising season lay ahead for the Posh.

 

Prediction 2^nd, as I said, some impressive signings, the absence of Fry and the appointment of Wright should pay off for the Posh.
