Forrester finally signs his contract

Jamie Forrester today signed a 2 year contract with the Imps, completeing a transfer from League 2's Bristol Rovers. It was feared by Imps fans that Forrester wouldn't sign after the departure of Keith Alexander but today's news continues a recent run of good news at Sincil Bank.

The 31 year old initially joined up with the Imps for a month just before the 5-0 win over Grimsby and after a successful spell, agreed to extend his deal so that he could help the Imps secure a place in the playoffs. He scored 5 goals in an 11 game loan spell and became a favourite with the fans at Sincil Bank. He also agreed to join the Imps permanently but when Keith Alexander left the Imps last week, many speculated that Forrester would instead follow Keith to London Road.

Jamie becomes the first player brought into Sincil Bank this summer but will more than likely be the only one until the Imps hire a new manager which is expected to not be for another 2 weeks. However, the new manager doesn't have to worry about losing any of the in-contract Imps players due to a clause in Keith Alexander leaving the club. This means that the Imps are only likely to lose Simon Yeo but he looks set to move to Stockport.
