City set for another summer game against Town

Lincoln City will meet Grimsby Town for the 6th time in 12 months as the two were drawn against each other in a cup competition. The Imps will make the trip to Blundell Park hoping to do better than last season when Boston eliminated then holders City in the first round.

It will be City's 6th game in a year against Town and it could easily turn into the Mariner's 5th victory over the Imps in that period after winning 1-0 in pre-season last year, 3-0 in the league and both playoff games. City's only victory was that memorable 5-0 victory in March.

City won the Lincolnshire Senior Cup in 2004/5 when City beat Boston on penalties following a 4-4 draw and then City won the trophy at Glanford Park with a win over Scunthorpe. City were eliminated in the first round last season.

City's pre-season has still failed to take any major shape with only games against Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Ilkeston Town being confirmed, although Liverpool are due to visit Sincil Bank at some point.

The game against Grimsby will take place Blundell Park on Thursday July 20th with a 7:30pm kick off with admission at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions/kids..
