The rumours of a takeover/investment are true! After a few days of speculation, Leeds have released a statement confirming that they are in talks about ‘long term investment’ – this would explain the recent lack of transfer activity and the radio silence from Chairman Ken Bates.
The majority of fans would certainly prefer a takeover rather than investment, but at the moment, there are no further details as to who the interested parties are. The Leeds United Supporters Trust (LUST) have been working hard to attract investment, and it is through them that the investors are believed to have been attracted. There is much speculation about the names in the frame, but as yet, there is no confirmation.
This is going to make for a very interesting week or two as the future of the club could be about to change – hopefully for the better at last…
