Round of the results on Tuesday 13th August 2002 as 1st and 2nd meet already and Gillingham top the table.

Brighton and Coventry played out a 0-0 draw at The Withdean despite Coventry going down to 10 men after Calum Davenport was shown red.

Crystal Palace manager Trevor Francis also saw red and was sent to the stands to watch his team concede a Bradford goal with 15 minutes courtesy of Andy Tod. Tony Popovic grabbed the equaliser with 9 minutes remaining.

Gillingham raced to the top of the table after Paul Shaw's defeated Derby 1-0. Derby's high-earners could not match Gillingham's hardworking ethics on the night.

Grimsby and Wimbledon grabbed a point each in a scoreless bore draw at Blundell Park.

In the 1st VS 2nd clash between Rotherham and Norwich, David Nielsen grabbed a late equaliser for The Canaries after Alan Lee gave The Millers the lead after 36 minutes.

Reading defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 thanks to a Jamie Cureton double after Gerald Sibon gave The Owls the lead.

Millwall and Watford register their first points of the campaign after a 0-0 draw which saw Millwall midfielder David Livermore sent off after late tackles on Allan Neilsen and former team-mate Sean Dyche.
