Sky Blues reject derisory offer

Coventry have responded to Espanyol's offer for keeper Magnus Hedman by telling them to return with a "suitable offer"

The Spanish club offered to take the unhappy Sweedish keeper on-loan with a view to a permanent move.

The La Liga team are in financial trouble and are unlikley to return with a new offer.

Sky Blues Chief Executive Graham Hover pulled no punches when speaking to the clubs offical site.

"We met with a representative of Espanyol, who made a derisory offer for Magnus.

"They initially wanted to take him on loan with a view to a permanent move, but we have stressed this is not acceptable.

"We underlined from the start that we would not be prepared to accept less than the true value of any Coventry City player and we stand by that.

"If Espanyol come back with a suitable offer, we will be prepared to talk to them.

"But until then, Magnus Hedman will remain at Coventry City."
