Denis Smith looks ahead to Grimsby to put behind them three consecutive defeats. A win would be the best preparation for Saturdays trip to Brentford.

Wrexham boss Denis Smith is anxious for his side to end their poor run of
form which continued with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Notts County.
It was Wrexham's third straight loss, and Smith said: "We've had a few bad results and must somehow turn it round. "I quite fancied our chances here as the lads seemed up for it and I had a reasonable number to choose from. "It might have happened but someone up there doesn't like us. I must have upset someone with things going against us as they have in recent weeks." Wrexham had to play the majority of the second half with only 10 men after Hector Sam was taken off with all three allowed substitutes already on the field. Smith said Sam wanted to come back on after receiving stitches to his gashed shin, but the Wrexham medical staff would not allow it. "That's a new one for me," Smith fumed. "But apparently it was a very nasty gash and they've got to make their decisions. "But put it this way, if it would have been me (injured) they wouldn't have stopped me from coming back on." |
