The Valentines Day showdown has been designated as a 'Proud to be Red Day' by the jubilant York City Supporters' Trust and fans are expected to turn up in their 1000s in order to show their love for both the football club they love.
Trust Spokesperson Rob Havercroft commented :
"This weekend's game gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate the saving of Bootham Crescent, our home of more than 70 years. We therefore encourage all York City supporters attending the game to wear their colours with pride.
"To help create a carnival atmosphere for what is a very important game, it would be great to see everyone wearing the colours of the club. Even if you do not possess a replica shirt, scarf or hat, we just ask fans to wear something red !"
Supporters have been asked to congregate at Bootham Row (Radio York) at 2pm to celebrate the Bootham Crescent deal! There will be speeches at 2pm, with a celebration march setting off at 2:15pm.
The day is also being deemed as 'Ladies Day' at the stadium, to try and promote women's football and to try and attract move female fans to the game.
All ladies attending Saturday's game, will leave with a special Valentine's gift.
