York City 0 Burnley 4

Burnley continued their love affair with Bootham Crescent as they wore York down to carve out a path into the second round of the Capital One Cup.
Twenty one years on from the famous night that earned promotion from the basement division and breathed new life into the club, Clarets fans were back on the terrace where John Francis’s late goal sparked mayhem. And after seeing David Jones open his account for the Clarets with a sublime early finish into the same net, the travelling supporters were treated to a second half goal spree as Sean Dyche’s men secured a deserved place in Thursday’s draw. Junior Stanislas doubled the Clarets’ lead in the 61st minute before man-of-the-moment Danny Ings’ seventh goal in six games and a late strike from substitute Scott Arfield wrapped things up. The Clarets were unchanged from the side that drew the opening Championship game of the season with Bolton at the weekend. And the visitors almost had the perfect start inside three minutes. Kieran Trippier rampaged down the right flank and delivered a wicked cross that Sam Vokes smashed against the crossbar with a towering header. Started like Real Madrid for 25 mins ... 3 - 0 would have been fair... then York took over till half time and must have fancied their chances to come back out and win the game...
They have a cracking left back... I'd be on the phone today if I was Sean D
second half Burnley weather the early storm and take over and pick them off quite easily...
Shackell immense during the period York slung everything at him
Turnstile takings at away end app £10,000
Food kiosk takings near us £120,000... Jeez never seen so many hungry people all through the game

A convincing cup win against lower-league opposition. Might be my selective memory, but we haven't had many of those recently.

Nigel Worthington on Beeb " If you let good players play they will take advantage" Sounds promising.

Weve a VERY good eleven there and I am so glad he didnt make changes.
We need that injury/suspension luck we had in the promotion Season and we will be fine with that eleven.

Good to see Dyche taking the competition seriously and playing the 'first team'. I can't be bothered to check, but I wonder if Wolves and Boro had their strongest teams out.

I'm not sure about Boro but Wolves were being referred to as "the young Wolves team" on Sky?
