Burnley retained their lofty position at the top of the Championship with a gritty draw away at the City Ground.
The Clarets took the lead midway through the first half when Sam Vokes slotted home his 10th goal of the season from the penalty spot. Forest striker Simon Cox set up a barnstorming second half with an equaliser four minutes before the break. And in game that lived up to its billing as the Championship game of the day, the Clarets stood firm amid increasing second half pressure from the hosts to extend their unbeaten league run to 12 games and keep top spot. Sean Dyche made one change to the side that drew 1-1 against Bournemouth at Turf Moor two weeks earlier. Midfielder Dean Marney failed to make the squad through injury, with David Edgar his replacement in the engine room. And it was a positive start from the Clarets, who moved the ball around well in the opening stages, bringing an early booking for Henri Lansbury for bringing down Michael Kightly from behind. Kieran Trippier then saw his deep cross tentatively tipped over his own crossbar ay Karl Darlow, before Forest came within a whisker of opening the scoring. Jamie Mackie was fouled by Jason Shackell 25 yards from goal and Lansbury curled a delightful free kick off the face of the Burnley crossbar with Tom Heaton well beaten.
