Rangers 1 Burnley 3

Andre Gray was at his deadly best with a hat-trick as Burnley slipped into top gear at Rangers.Last season's 25-goal hitman had hit the ground running in pre-season, finding the target in all four previous games.

And Gray maintained his 100% record and took his tally to a remarkable eight in five warm-up games with an early penalty and two brilliantly taken opportunist efforts.

Striker Sam Vokes also returned to the starting line-up for the first time since his goalscoring heroics in the European Championships, reuniting last season’s 39-goal partnership.

And within five minutes Gray had extended his sensational scoring streak.
The striker ran off the shoulder of Clint Hill to meet Dean Marney’s slide-rule pass, and had his heels clipped by the former Queens Park Rangers defender.

And Gray duly made no mistake from the spot, sending Wes Foderingham the wrong way from the spot.

RANGERS AFTER 'ONE OR TWO' MORE

Mark Warburton will look to reinforce Rangers' back-line after seeing his side's defence brutally exposed by Burnley.

"We need one or two more; we've said that for a number of weeks but you've got to get the right players in," the manager said.

"There are Burnley players rated £25m and we can't pay that kind of money. It's a smaller talent pool but we know what we want and if we can get it, we'll make the move. I hope to get something done before next Saturday. We are working on it."

Don't know how they'll do in the SPL, but if Rangers were in the Championship they'd likely be relegated, I doubt even Joey could save them.

I was interested in our 25M players.

Maybe he meant £2.5m Shanghai, we have a few of them.

How times change though, if anyone had said just ten years ago that our spending power dwarfed Glasgow Rangers, they'd have been carted off to Whittingham.

Well I guess that is part of the difference between a club that is run well fiscally and one that hasn't.

It also helps if you choose the right manager.
