At last a signing! Michael Ricketts, 27, joins on loan until April 30th. This follows Cardiff not being able to extend the deal with them...

Ricketts joins on Loan
Ricketts started out at Walsall in 1996, scoring 14 goals in 31 games for the Saddlers before attracting interest from Bolton who signed Ricketts for £400,000 in the summer of 2000. During January 2003 Ricketts went to Middlesborough for £3.5 million plus an undisclosed percentage of any sell-on fee received, but joined Leeds on a free, as part of a deal which saw Viduka go the other way to the Riverside. During this season he joined Cardiff on loan and scored 5 goals from 17 starts. This of course was as a second front man alongside Jerome! Despite joining Stoke on loan last season, he made 11 appearances mainly as a substitute but never managed to make the score sheet. The reaction of Clarets Fans is mixed! BUT he is another body and starts to make up numbers as we try to stop our season dropping away before February has even started!
