At an extremely wet and sodden Stamford Bridge yesterday milestones were reached and a little bit more history was made - History Ed?, We ain't got none!! Petr Cech claimed his 100th clean sheet, Super Frank scored his 100th Premiership goal and Alex scored Chelsea's 1000th Premiership goal to record his name in the annuals of Chelsea's history.
Chelsea sit proudly on top of the Premiership courtesy of Tottingham's win over Liverpool last night and with Arsenal losing as well - not a bad day at all. Joe Cole returned to the starting line-up after shaking off his knock in the midweek win at Hull and quite rightly was given the MOM accolade - but there were other candidates too - Deco, Mikel, Super Frank. How it took Chelsea 27 minutes to take the lead, no one knows. Joe Cole on Chelsea's right, cut inside George McCartney and shot. The ball skidded under Fulops body and Alex was on hand to tap-in. Minutes later Chelsea repeated the trick and Anelka was on hand to follow-up Alex's slight touch to make it 2-0. Right on half-time Anelka got his second and Chelsea's third after another flowing move as Anelka tapped-in from a Malouda cross. Within ten minutes of the second-half resuming Chelsea were five up. From another Joe Cole assist, a chip cross from the byline, Super Frank rose highest to head past Fulop. Frank scoring another with his head, what's going on? LOL Anelka claimed his hat-trick when his soft shot scooped up into the air from Fulop's foot and spun into the unguarded net. Mineiro made his debut on seventy-four minutes and if you thought Makelele was a small man, Mineiro is even smaller! The only sour note was the withdrawal of Ashley Cole in the first-half with some sort of calf injury, but with the excellent Wayne Bridge in as cover, Chelsea's momentum shouldn't be disturbed. Sunderland's manager Roy Keane was sent to the stands at half-time and he explained why, he said "The referee told me to sit in the stands for the second half. If that's being sent off then you will have to ask him. "But to be honest I am not as angry as I was after the Stoke game in the week. It's no shame to be beaten by a team like Chelsea. They are really a top side. "I was most disappointed with the third goal but I am not looking for excuses." Big Phil enthused about the contribution that Joey made, he said "Joe Cole played, for me, the best game. "He helped when we did not have the ball and tried to build something for us when we did have the ball. "It is very good for us because he is always trying to win the ball, sometimes wide, sometimes in the midfield. This is what I want from my players in every position - not to stay in the same position all the time, because if they stay in the same position then they are easy to mark." Two wins since the Liverpool defeat, eight goals scored, +23 goal diffference, no wonder the fans sung.... BORING, BORING CHELSEA, BORING, BORING CHELSEA, BORING, BORING CHELSEA. Pleased for Anelka for getting his hatrick and Cech and Lampard for their milestones. (Isn´t it 99 PL goals but 100 league goals for Lampard?)

The PL confirmed it as a Frank goal and TV pictures confirmed he got the last touch.
