Michael Ballack, Ricardo Carvalho, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba are all fit and raring to go after returning to training this week. 'Cult Hero' Juliano Belletti and Alex have declared their desire to win trophies this season and both are also raring to go!!
Belletti said, "When you play in a big team like Chelsea of course you can win. You have the team to win, you have a responsibility to win, and you have the best players." Alex chipped in by saying, "It is always important to win trophies and I was very happy I managed to win a Dutch Cup and three leagues with PSV. Last year at Chelsea we thought we could get one, we didn't but I am sure this time we are stronger and I believe we have better chances and can get a least two of them." So off we go - continuing our third different campaign to win a trophy, a trophy we gave up last season in a whimpering Wembley performance. Top of the league, top of Group A in the Champions League with the FA Cup trail to come, Chelsea head into Wednesday nights Carling Cup battle with the Claret and Blue of Burnley, full of confidence and full of hope. At the same stage last season we had a humdinger of a game against Leicester City at The Bridge where we finally won 4-3 and if we get half a game like that against Burnley on Wednesday, it should be a great night. Burnley are riding high in the Championship and will be bringing over 6,000 fans down to pack out The Shed End (in fact 6,000 is half their home average at Turf Moor). Ray Wilkins said, "We must pay them the utmost respect and put our Premier League status upon them when they visit. "Up front they are quite useful and mobile. Martin Paterson is mobile and Wade Elliott is quick so it's up to us to make sure they are doing most of the defending because we don't wish to see those guys on the ball too much in the final third." Don't forget Robbie Blake too - hope we don't get to see those red pants!!! On Chelsea, WIlkins didn't give any clues away on who might start, but what he did say was, "I had a chat with Felipe and he said that six or seven regulars won't play but will be involved. "We didn't actually decide on the side, but he said six or seven changes." With that said Didier will be in the squad, but Wilkins said 'that Joe Cole won't feature.' Wilkins did reveal all the players have been to see 'Big Phil.' He said, "We've done exceptionally well over the last couple of years in the Carling Cup and the boys have actually been to Felipe and expressed the fact that they want to play. "That's an extremely positive attitude to take, and I'm delighted they've taken that stance as it shows there is this winning mentality in the club." Below is the team that played against Portsmouth in the third round and won 4-0: Cech, Ivanovic, Alex, Terry (c), Bridge, Belletti, Kalou, Ballack (Ferreira 68), Lampard (Sinclair 73), Malouda, Drogba (Di Santo 79) If Scolari says there will be six or seven changes from the 'regulars,' most of the team above have been regulars, I am not even going to try to attempt to predict a team - leave that to you lot!

Good news on Joe Cole and Ballack - although will not be available. They´ve only JUST come back to training so no doubt saved for the weekend.

I assuming no Joe Cole nor Ballack (nor Carvalho, Essien, Ashley Cole obviously)... with 6 changes from Sunday I reckon:
I would be nice if we could get to a comfortable score and bring the likes of youngsters Stoch and Di Santo - but any changes may involve bringing senior players on to get them fit.

how it should be done at a game,,,,i no as ive said before,we should not be following other teams,,,(bet burnley eyebrows twitching now,,,they just dont get me)but if i was not burnley threw n threw,,plus hull,,,n chelsea,,,n man u,,,etc,,,this would be a team i would follow just for thier loyal support,,,
