If its career progression you are after in these days of the credit crunch, why not go to work for Chelsea Football Club. With all the criticism that Chelsea has to put up with, you rarely ever see 'good stuff' about Chelsea in the media.
Take the coaching set-up for example. Paul Clement, a few months ago was Academy coach. He is now working with the first team. Dermot Drummy was coaching the U16s and is now looking after the reserves.
Mark Beeney has now been trusted with the fortunes of the Academy side and on Saturday morning he got off to a flier as the Academy beat Ipswich Town, 3-0.
First-half goals from schoolboys Aziz Deen Conteh and Rohan Ince put the Academy 2-0 up at half-time and in the second-half Marko Mitrovic got the faintest of touches to round off a successful morning for the travelling Blues.
Beeney said after his first match in charge, "We scored two against the run of play when they made a point of running themselves into the ground, getting close to us and stopping us from playing, and we were fortunate to go in two up, but I'll take that for a first game in charge.
"From half-time onwards the boys got the ball down and kept it a lot better, moving it a lot quicker which made it harder for Ipswich to get close to us. The player getting sent off and scoring the third goal finished the game off and from there we completely took control of the game."
