Prior to the kick-off at The Bridge our erstwhile bald-headed numpty Neil Barnett (I am sorry I really don't like this bloke) but I cannot fault his Chelsea history, took two attempts to quieten down the Tangerines trees growing, waving and screaming in the wind in the corner of The Shed End of Stamford Bridge.
The reason was to announce the death on Saturday evening of Bobby Smith, a member of our title winning side of 1955.
Bobby died at the age of 77 after a short illness, making four appearances in our first title winning season, which must have been hard to take when on trial at the age of 14 he scored three goals in a 3-1 victory over Charlton.
He made his Chelsea debut against Bolton in 1950 and in 21 appearances he scored 9 goals. The following season he scored 16 goals in 39 games.
In 1955 Bobby went to Tottingham where he went on to acheive the double and became an England regular, proving back in the 50s, Chelsea transfer policy of selling good players was 'rubbish!!"

The Boss 'Anco,' despite his own personal problems has completed an easy cruise so far, as Chelsea look to retain their title, and FA Cup Winners = THE DOUBLE.
'Anco' wanted 15 points from five games, before the trip to Money Citeh at the weekend, but could he have expected the amount of goals the Blues have racked up?!?!
21 scored and only 1 conceded, 12 scored at home and none conceded (Woolwich are next up for the test).
Four yesterday in a scintillating first-half that even left Blackpool's boss Ian Holloway speechless, which is no mean thing to do, when he said "I will eat my...... I will eat a hat if Chelsea do not finish 60 points in front of us."
But don't forget, of Blackpool's five games so far, they have played four away and they have won two of them (Wigan and Newcastle) without conceding a goal.
In the absence of JT and Super Frank, Didier was made Captain and to me this decision made sense.
Didier has really grown into a Chelsea player with 'responsibility' after learning not to spend more time on the ground than on his feet.
Yesterday, Didier was immense. Not by scoring but setting up plays for Kalou and Malouda.
When Kalou swept in the first inside two minutes from a Drogba corner, in was a question of ACTUALLY how many Chelsea would score.
Drogba set-up Malouda for his first after receiving a pass down Chelsea's right from Kalou, then Drogba scored himself after spinning on an Ashley Cole pass on the edge on the area and Chelsea's fourth came on 40 minutes from Malouda who was set-up by a combination of Kalou and Drogba.
The goal glut didn't continue in the 2nd half. Chances were created but wasted and Blackpool were a better team after their first 45 minute rout and credit has to be given to those in Tangerine who didn't let their heads drop.
Cech didn't have an easy day. He saved well from Baptiste down to his left in the first-half and then in the second he had Ivanovic to thank for clearing off the line from Campbell and then Cech did well to tip a Taylor-Fletcher effort over the bar.
Perhaps Blackpool should have attacked The Shed End in the first-half, as the Tangerines support never wavered throughout the whole ninety-minutes, which made the atmosphere all afternoon... absolutely brilliant.

Í agree on Barnett - he is capable of making you cringe at times - but, as you say, you can´t fault his knowledge (or love for the club).
First big test next weekend I suppose?

Dont get me wrong. Barnett is a nice bloke, but its the sacarsm he gives when talking about other clubs, fans and players which does me up - he doesnt do it with humour in his voice
