Although Chelsea got off to a horrible start with Cech saving brilliantly in the opening minutes from Taylor and then communication problems between Cech and Alex saw the new England striker Carroll, nip in and put the Barcodes ahead, Chelsea were on the cosh before the gamehad started.
In third place our goal difference obliterated - a win would have seen us back to the top.
Sixty shots on goal in our last two games wasn't going to happen this afternoon but at least fifteen got Tim Krul working more than Cechie boy.
For me Chelsea could have had at least two penalties and on another day Newcastle could have had Steven Taylor sent off in the first-half when he sent Didier tumbling.
NO yellow card for Didier for diving... what does that tell you?
Just on half time Kalou worked at bit of magic on the edge of the area and with the help of a couple deflections Krul was beaten down at his left hand post.
First goal away from home in four. Happy Days.
Kalou had a chance in the second-half to win it for Chelsea but his second attempt from an initial rebound went wide of the post.
For me the most controversial moment of the afternoon came when Didier scored down to Krul's left in the 2nd half and he was deemed to have handled the ball.
Tell me htf can Didier do anything about a ball hitting his hand when the ball was defended by Newcastle? Utd got lucky... very lucky.
The finish although disallowed, was Didier at his best.
He allowed the ball to drop and he swept it into the bottom left hand corner.
With Alex expected to go under the knife this week, can we expect JT - Our Leader, Our Inspiration and England's Real Captain - make his return next week against Everton?
To others Chelsea may have 'dropped' two points. For me it was a point well earned.

It was a slow game caused by the state of the pitch but Newcastle did very well to get it at least somewhere near ready under extreme weather conditions and pressure.
Drogba STILL looks under the weather and I´ve a feeling this malaria malarky will need a longer recovery time than at first thought - I´d say he´s about 75% at the moment.
Kalou? As frustrating as ever! How did he miss that open goal in the second half?
Oh well....onwards and upwards. It should only get better from now on.
