Chelsea 1-0 Bolton: The Prawnies Will Be Happy

A sense of relief emanated around Stamford Bridge at the final whistle last night. Chelsea got their first win since beating Fulham almost two months ago and the joy and celebrations on the faces of Malouda (heroic goalscorer), Lampard, Drogba and even 'under-pressure' Carlo was a feeling to behold. Flo charged seventy yards to 'high-five' his beleagured coach.
Funny how a goal can change mentality. From that moment Chelsea were released from their shackles. Confidence oozed, Chelsea threatened to overun Bolton. Ashley found a new lease of life and space down Bolton's right.
Essien who bulldozed and bullied his way through the midfield to free Dids (who did look suspiciously offside) then set up Malouda to score the winner, broke off his chains and dominated the rest of the proceedings.
But for the first hour or so the game was a turgid affair. Not many chances created, although Jaaskelainen deflected a Didier shot onto the bottom of the post, Holden forced Cech into a superb tip over the bar, but other than that, the 'prawnies' were getting restless.
The pre-match atmosphere was tight, tort and tense.. It would have taken more than a machete to cut through, a topless Wanderers fan was spotted (Matt Lucas lookalike) fat at least, egging on the Blue three-quarters of the Shed End.
Someone suggested that Bolton fans came down in a mini-bus (perhaps the fare was fatty's shirt?)
The half-time heroics of those who booed the team off served no purpose.
What these people do not realise is that this present run is the worse since 'Luca' was 'beheaded' back in 1999 and Vialli won five trophies in such a short space of time.
The 'Prawines,' if they have got the time (to get out of their brown shoes, green hunting jackets and brown hunting strides) need to study their Chelsea history and respect those at Stamford Bridge trying to support a team who are not playing well.
In his first season, Carlo Ancelotti won 'The Double' (the first in Chelsea's history), and was cruelly denied a quarter-final place in the 'Corrupt Cup,' by some dodgey refereeing decisions against Jose's Inter Milan.
A lot of us remember the bad times and we are still here celebrating the good times despite those thinking 'fourth' place is a bad place to be.

Much, much better...well, the 2nd half was. As you say, it needed the goal after Drogba´s post hitting to get the fans going and I must say the support was pretty good then.
Really pleased for Ramires, who for me was MOM. He had a great game - looked alert, astute and never stopped running.
There is definitely a sense of a weight lifted off our backs with that 2nd half display - now on to Villa - a match we must win with some conviciton IF we really are to escape the black cloud which has been hanging over us for far too long now.

The last 20 minutes reminded me of earlier this season. The shackles were released. Strange but what a confidence booster. Let it continue with Villa on Sunday

I don't like when commentators say "it wasn't intentional." Are handballs ever really intentional (besides Suarez WC heroics)?
We were robbed against Wigan though. Never a penalty for them and a clear penalty for us denied at the end, 2 if you count Theo's appeal.
