.....sing or hear the song........ 'Who needs Wayne Rooney when we got Mutuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.... Chim, Chimney, Chim, Chimney, Chim, Chim, cheroo...........' Stupid boy. Honestly. Stupid boy. For the sake of a bit of 'recreational fun'
....... it has cost him possibly the best years of his career. Rumours abound suggest that in his limited appearances for Chelsea, once his initial burst onto the Premiership scene had finished, he was playing with drugs in his system. Well what can you say apart from the man has got some serious problems. Fancy blowing a contract worth about £60,000 a week. The only thing that can be said in the defence for Mutu at least in the end, he admitted he took drugs and has a problem. His admission didn't save him from getting sacked though, and for that whether you like Chelsea or not, you have to admire them for taking the stance that they did. OK the purists and the money hating jealous football club type wish we had that money will say that Chelsea won't miss the money because of RA's involvement with the club, but what they dont realise is that IF and IF Mutu's contract is worth £60,000 per week and he had three years left Chelsea are going to save £16m that his transfer fee cost in the first place. Nice figure work Chelsea. But again whether you love or hate Chelsea, you have to admire the stance they have taken. First Bosnich and now Mutu. Drugs have no place in society whether it be in sport, arts, politics etc especially where impressionable youngsters are keen to emulate their heroes. We all make mistakes in our lifetime and we live to regret them and me I certainly have made more than my fair share. But drugs. DRUGS HAVE NEVER BEEN ONE OF THEM!!! Continuing on the sort of bad press that football has had these last few weeks. What the hell has 'The Currant Bun' not got in its front page locker, with all the 'important' worldly stories but to go and publish a Thursday front page edition on certain Chelsea players gambling £2m at the bookies in the last year. We all know that footballers gambling is rife and prevalent in today's Premiership game. Simply because at the end of the day they are 'overpaid' and have too much money and have too much time on their hands. Its simple. If these footballers can't keep their wallets in their pockets then that it is down to them. Why should a national newspaper push it down our throats that these footballers CAN AFFORD to gamble vast and huge sums of money, when the majority of us decent and normal working class supporters are slowly being killed off due to corporates taking over our seats at our favourite clubs.
