As the games come thick and fast over the Easter period, Rovers host Brighton and Hove Albion at Prenton Park on Easter Monday with Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Blackpool still fresh in the mind.
After losing the match and ending the game with nine men and having also now lost their last three matches (their worst run this season), Rovers quickly need a win in the League to try to get them back on track but without the services of midfield trio Paul McLaren, John Mullin and Jason McAteer the task may prove impossible.
One positive from a Rovers point of view is that the Seagulls also go into this match on the back a defeat on Saturday after falling 2-0 at home to Doncaster Rovers.
When the two sides met earlier in the season, Rovers took all three points thanks to a first half strike from Chris Greenacre so Brighton will be out for revenge this time around.
On the road, Brighton have impressively won almost 50% of their matches (9 out of 20) and have only registered one defeat on the road in their last six games.
In contrast, Tranmere have only won twice at home in their last six games with their last two home matches both ending in 2-0 defeats although throughout the season Rovers have only lost four games at Prenton Park.
With realistically nothing to play for, Rovers will simply be looking to restore some pride to their season with a decent win but more importantly of late a decent performance.

The midfield is Ronnie Moore’s main concern ahead of this game with John Mullin and Jason McAteer both suspended following their dismissals at Blackpool and Paul McLaren still expected to be sidelined with his injury.
Long term absentee John Achterberg (knee) will also miss out but John Thompson could be in contention for a return to the starting line-up following his knee injury.

The Seagulls are without Dean Hammond (hernia), Charlie Oatway (ankle), Paul Reid (knee) and Adam Hinshelwood (knee) but Nick War could return to the side after international duty which kept him out of the 2-0 home defeat to Doncaster on Saturday.
