Saturday 19th January  2008 - Kick-Off 3.00pm

Coca-Cola League One at The New Den

By Deadly Submarine

Just over a week after a long trip to London, Rovers are faced with yet another as this time they had to the New Den to face Millwall in Coca-Cola League One.

The last team that Rovers are yet to face this season, Millwall find themselves in 20th place in League One just two points above the dreaded relegation zone and will be looking to their home form to keep them out of trouble for the remainder of the season.

Like Rovers, The Lions had an FA Cup third round replay to get out of the way in midweek as Walsall came to London and lost 2-1, meaning Millwall will now face Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena next Saturday in the fourth round.

Rovers of course lost at Hereford despite being the better team for the whole game and have now lost four of their five games in 2008 so far, drawing the other one against Hereford at Prenton Park.

Despite having played well in all three away defeats at Crewe, Orient and Hereford, Ronnie Moore's men have conceded eight goals in those three away games as well as further four at home.

Last time the two sides met was at The New Den in the closing stages of last season when Rovers led early through Shane Sherriff but then found themselves 2-1 down,  However, just a minute after going behind, Calvin Zola pulled the visitors level and Rovers got a much deserved draw to take back north.

These two sides meet again in a months time at Prenton Park but for now let's hope Rovers can turn good performances into the wins that count.

Team News

Millwall

Millwall are struggling with injuries but should see Zak Whitbread, Neil Harris, Richard Shaw, Marc Laird and Marcus Bignot return for this game but Ahmet Brkovic (hamstring) is unavailable.

Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere receive a much needed defensive boost with the return of Captain Ian Goodison from a four match suspension after being sent off on New Years Day at Crewe.

John Mullin is expected to be fit after coming off the substitutes bench on Wednesday night but Steve Davies and Chris Shuker (both cruciate ligaments) are out for the remainder of the season and Chris Greenacre is a doubt.

Match Referee - Clive Penton (Sussex)
