Site Poll: Does John King Deserve More Recognition
By Deadly Submarine
September 4 2008
Our latest site poll asks whether fans feel that Rovers Legend Johnny King deserves further recognition at Prenton Park in addition to the Borough Road Stand that is already named after him. Thoughts of a statue or some similar tribute to his services have been mooted in recent weeks.

The time has come to launch our latest site poll in which we ask you for your views on a Rovers topic on a monthly basis.
Following a recent piece on the same subject in the Rovers Fanzine ‘Give Us An R', we are asking you whether you feel that legendary Club Manager Johnny King deserves more recognition at the Club in addition to the Stand on Borough Road that already bears his name.

The Johnny King Stand Currently Pays Homage to a Hero!
Recent talk has brought up suggestions including a statue in the main Car Park at Prenton Park or even the re-naming of the much larger Main Stand after the great man rather than the Borough Road Stand.
So what are your views on this topic? The poll can be found at the bottom of most pages on this site, usually at the bottom of the left hand side menu so make your vote count.

BUT, we named a stand after the man. What do you mean by he deserves more recognition?? In what way?
Building a statue could cost a bit?

The man is a legend and deserves to be honoured. I think renaming the main stand would be a fitting tribute (the Kop won't be renamed as it has potential for Sponsorship). Statue's cost big money and I think that most of our 5000 die hards can't afford to shell out hundreds to contirbute towards a statue.
If something is going to be done, it needs to be done soon as I have it good authority from people working at the club that John is unfortunately suffering from alzheimers / dimentia. It would be nice if he could be introduced to the crowd if something was to be unveiled.
'That's an awfully big moustache'
Anyone remember his speech when they naned the Borough Road Stand after him and the t*ts in the Kop booed when he made mention and thanks to Peter Johnson?
Disgrace that I thought!
