Ronnie: "It Was Important We Scored First"

Ronnie Moore was pleased to see his Tranmere side finally notch another home League win against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night and stressed the importance of Rovers scoring first in the game rather than their recent habit of going behind and having to try and fight back.

Ronnie Moore was delighted with his sides' win over Cheltenham Town at Prenton Park on Tuesday after three previous home League defeats.

"We've limited them to next to nothing.  We won't come up against a side who work as hard as them this season.  There's no easy game when a team plays like that."

"But we matched them and we got on top of them.  It was important we scored first.  The crowd got behind us and there's a lot to look forward to."

"We've got to take the three points, learn from the first half and produce a higher tempo.  If we play at a high tempo I don't think many teams will beat us here."

"It has been coming from Shuker.  That's what he's all about.  He's been a menace, he's a threat and he's gone round people.  I'm well pleased with the result."

"We needed the win at home.  We've done that and now we're up and running again on Friday against Crewe."
