Waste of wages would of rather got Hume in! Why are we signing 19 year olds when we have a youth team full of them?? Doesnt make sense to me!!

I was operation under the assumption that Coventry and Derby would be still paying there wages? After all, it is only a month loan?

I am glad we have added to the squad but am really concerned that both of these players are young and inexperienced, we already have plenty of the same.

The amount of trialists and loans etc really will disrupt any squad harmony we may have, maybe a reason why goodison looks so fed up?

Also if that is the 'class midfielder' Les said we could get at the drop of a hat then its a joke. He really does make a rod for his own back by saying things like, "I don'want many loans" etc.

I'd rather sign one expeirenced midfielder who can pass the ball on a 6 month contract than sign 2 loan players.

Ricci, Les said if he couldn't bring in permanent players he'd bring in one of those such midfielders when the loan window reopens next Tuesday.

Funny what a few days does... These two waste of time loan signings are now heroes (according to other threads).

Too much bloody negativity on this site... I said it about Labaddie, and I said it about Showunmi... give them a chance before slating.

I didn't even bother mentioning it with these two... I ust chuckled at the usual boo boys being negative before the evidence has been shown!

I compeltely agree. Morrow, before he'd even had a trial. Cathalina, what had he done? Played half an hour in a friendly?

The really stupid thing is people looking at strikers histories on sites, and judging on what's written, which is often partial truth. They don't consider how many times a pleyr might assist. I mean get real here, Morrow played 44 times for Derry City and some people didn't think hang on this guy must have done more than score 14 goals, he can't surely be 100% selfish can he? Oh he didn't score that many for Hibs, maybe it's not because he's@#$%&at that level, but maybe it's something else, which it was.

Then people grouch about trying to get quality and experience, when the budget won't even cover £1,500 a week for a guy like Macken. Then when some quality and experience comes in the form of Showunmi, he's badly dissed for one friendly appearance, when he was about 2 weeks less fit than anyone else because of when he signed.

Then they grouch about Les being rubbish asnd wanting someone like Jewell, when

A: sacking Les after about 4-5 games in all competitions, would have been detrimental.

B: Spending possibly another £100,000-£150-000 a year on someone like Jewell, would have possibly increased club debts and given Jewell almost nothing to spend on players.

What manager would want a job, that gives them less than £1,500 a week for players in League 1 and then probably less than £50,000 a year for players, because he's earning most of his transfer budget.

Most managers would run a mile. Look at Peter Taylor, he ran a million miles from Wycombe lasst season, because he claimed they were too poor to develop a squad good enough to be competitive at league 1 level.

Fact is, League 1 is not massively different to League 2 quality wise. Yes the gulf is only a bit bigger, when comparing to the gulf between League 2 and Conference, but finacially the gulf gets a lot bigger and most managers coming into this level from a batter past like Jewell, Taylor etc, would consider the chance to progress a team like Tranmere darned hard and not necessariy yworth their bother.

Assuming that is Johnson could pay someone like that Parry's wage, which I think most managers used to much more wouldn't accept. Plus with the proviso that they then would have very little to buy players with.

Unless you can poach a worldbeater from somewhere like the Evostick league, or an equivalent level.

The big question is not who people criticise but WHY od they criticise so readily without much evidence first?
