Tranmere Rovers v Huddersfield Town Match Discussion
By Deadly Submarine December 14 2010
Tranmere Rovers are at home to Huddersfield Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening, so for all the latest news and match updates, and all the pre, during and post-match discussion, don't forget to check out our Match Discussion thread............
For
those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season,
particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away
games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread
on the Site for every Rovers game.
The
thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up
and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match
analysis.
Where
possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and
substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.
Tranmere
of course host Huddersfield Town in the semi-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening so if you're not going to the
game why not
join in the banter
right here while the game is going on.
Maybe
if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can
post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You
could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores
throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you
have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
Admin
staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread
where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page
throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so
at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

we better had, good run spoiled by last two dreadful results. we really could be right up there. at least we've shown that one or two games won and we get out of the mire quickly. ash tonight and enoch. moore prob no. gonna be a big night. if we win this one i think we can win over two legs. 3-2
Best moment was when the ref blew for full time. Awful.
They try hard but sometimes that isn't enough. Difficult for our squad to compete with the quality of a team like huddersfield. Their team had experienced pros all over, wereas we are now a team of young pros, alot of whom are on loan. We looked like a team of eddie sonkos. Actually would rather have sonko than atkins.
Of the little I have seen, both fraughan and mcgurk look like they can actually play a bit of football, ie control it and pass it to one of our players, rather than just hoof it first time in the direction of their goal / Enoch. Surely they deserve a chance? Need to get the players in who aren't scared of the ball!!?
The long ball is not working. If we are going to keep playing that we may as well play goodison upfront from the start!!! Put ash at the back. Don't know whether he is fully fit enough yet to partner welsh in a 442, will be ok in a 433 though.
Couldn't make it last night but sounds very similar to how we have been playing recently, just long aimless balls forward with no thought. The fact is we haven't played well since the MK Dons game, and have now lost 3 games on the spin, all at home by the way.
With Swindon and Wednesday coming up things could look really bleak at the start of 2011.
For Tranmere, Swindon are at their weakest for some time now. No Paynter, thouygh they still have Austin, but they are only a little higher up the table than Tranmere.
This could be the time that Tranmere get a long awaited win agaisnt Swindon. If they can get one or two players back for the game, they have half a chance.
The game last season away just unravelled, what with the Ben Gordon own goal, the penalty and then the third goal, when they had a man advantage. plus Robinson was still suspended, so that didn't help.
Is it just a coincidence but we have lost the last 3 games and Joss Labadie has been suspended for the last 3 games. Maybe we will go on a winning streak with Joss back,as long as he doesn't get sent off again.
I would be very surprised if we got anything at Swindon. In fact in my lifetime of supporting Tranmere I can't remember us ever getting a good result there.
