Following Tranmere's 2-1 home win over Walsall in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon that saw them move up to 8th place in League One, Rovers boss Les Parry was happy to get another three points after admitting that Walsall made it difficult for his side to break them down on the day.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said.....

"They came today and worked terrifically hard in closing us down and stopping us playing. We played it backwards a bit at times which the crowd got a little bit upset about at times but when we had possession there was a wall of their players so it's not easy."

"Enoch had worked really hard and was looking tired. Sometimes centre halves get comfortable against centre forwards and that was the reason we made the change, to upset them a bit. I was made up for Mustafa after he missed out on the goal against Accrington."

"We could see the minute the shot left Robbie's foot where it was going but in the first half their keeper made three fantastic saves so even though it was going in the top corner we still weren't sure it was going to nestle in the net."

"We didn't get going for the first 15 minutes, there was no bounce in our step. But as the half went on we started to come into the game more and made the keeper make some saves.  We've got two away games now and we've played well away from home so if we can keep that form going there's no reason we can't take something from both games.

"We said at the beginning of the season that our Achilles Heel last season was our home form. All good runs are built on winning games at home and not being beaten so it's nice to get another win today."

Parry also revealed that striker Enoch Showumni picked up a slight groin injury in the first half of the game but hopes he will be available for Tuesday's game at Hartlepool.
