Tranmere Manager Les Parry was critical of the referee after the 0-0 draw at home to Colchester United on Saturday afternoon after Rovers had numerous penalty decisions turned down but also admitted that his side need to take chances created to win the tighter games.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said.....

"Colchester did well, they were really organised and made it difficult for us.  We didn't start particularly well but then we got into it, created some chances and their keeper has made some really good saves. We've missed some really good chances and you've got to take them when come along and that's why it's ended up 0-0."

Parry and Summerfield

"We had a couple of chances right at the end and their keeper has made a great save.  You get fed up of talking about referees but one of the 11 appeals we had for a penalty must have been a penalty. But we didn't get them. I think I might put together all the penalties we've conceded and send them to Graham because we've had penalties given against us for a lot less than happened today."

"There was one on the end where the lad had two hands in his back and has pushed him over. It's a penalty. All you can do is hope the referee does his job, unfortunately he didn't."

"But I'm not blaming it all on the referee, we've got to take our chances. Everybody has got to do their jobs including our strikers and including the officials."

To some extent it's true, that's 3 draws now where they mae enough on target shots, but just don't get another 5% on one or two of them, although referees must take their chance also, to award penalties to the right people.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Les saying that after games is starting to sound like a broken record. At least we are creating them I suppose.

2 points off the play-offs! I think a lot of us were expecting 2 points off the relegation zone.
