Ex-Liverpool Star Signing For Rovers?

We have heard alot of unusual things at Tranmere down the years, but is this the most obscure? But if it was true, what a signing it would be? Possibly the best thing to happen to Rovers ever. So whos this player who could change the history of Tranmere Rovers?

In my time of supporting Tranmere there have been alot of surprises, earning a place in the Worthington Cup Final, the 3-0 battering of Everton and most recently the signing of Jason McAteer.

Once again its a transfer, that goes out to surprise the Rovers faithful. But this time its only a rumour, a unusual one at that.

Before we name our unsung hero, we will look at the possibilities and reasons why he might come to our little, in comparison to his current club, club, and also could give away who he is.

Firstly its been rumoured he will only be coming if we get promoted, which is reasonable for his quality. Now to get to the reasons.

1. He's very close friends with Jason McAteer - who he played with at Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

2. Finds it hard at his current club - his current club isnt exactly doing amazing, and have recently sold their top striker, leaving them on thin ice.

3. Age - hes not the youngest of sparks, so might think it better to excede himself than struggle at his current level of football.

4. Coaching Badges - everybody knows Tranmere are a good club to start your coaching career at, just look at David Kelly and currently Jason McAteer is going through his badges at the moment.

5. First Team - without a doubt he would be a first team player, mainly because of his quality but he also Rovers don't have many other strikers to choice from now the Haworth has gone and the inevitable transfer of Gary Jones, also leaving both numbers 9 and 10 available.

6. Wants to take the clubs places - like Nick Barmby, he might want to come back to his hometown and get the team to places, the Championship.

And now to unveil the striker, in true Rolf Harris style, "Can you guess who it is yet"

Robbie Fowler

Yes, we are all shocked by this, but you never know at Tranmere, but we stress this is a rumour.
