City today announced that Stuart Pearce has signed a 1 year coaching deal with the club. The move comes after Pearce's retirement from playing and is seen as a stepping stone to management.
Pearce signs 1 year dealCity today announced that Stuart Pearce has signed a 1 year contract at the club. Pearce, who retired from playing at the end of the season, will take up a coaching role.As well as working with the first team, Pearce is also expected to work with the academy players, get involved in major managerial decisions and to attend board meetings. The deal is thought to be just reward for Pearce’s contribution as captain of the championship winning side. With the emphasis being on Pearce learning the managerial ropes it would appear that City are grooming Pearce for a career in management, probably away from the club initially. |
