Motherwell will appeal the red card Stephen Pearson received on Saturday against Partick Thistle.

Referee John Rowbotham claimed the midfielder had elbowed a Partick player off the ball and produced a red card.

BBC footage didn't pick up the incindent ( suprise suprise ) and after checking the their own tape of the match Motherwell believe that it backs up their player's pleas of innocence. Last season the club were fined for their poor disciplinary record last season.

It was the fourth red card of Pearson's short career but the player claims he' innocent.
