Conspiracy theories abound….

The SFA’s decision not to ban Rangers Ally McCoist, Bougherra and Diouf has got the conspiracy theorists in a spin this afternoon.

None of the three Rangers men was given a ban after their behaviour in the Scottish Cup replay in the Quarter Finals. McCoist appealed and saw his two game ban over turned, “common sense” according to the assistant boss.

The two players were given fines rather than ban for their behaviour, Bougherra manhandling the ref and Diouf for all sorts!!

The quashing of McCoist’s ban leaves Neil Lennon as the only person who has picked up a ban following the “shame” game. Although I did say at the time if it was for his involvement at the end of the game the punishment was wrong, but if it took in the whole game then he would have deserved it.

Many also suspected the two Rangers players who only get a fine. If they were suspended for the Cup they were unlikely to serve a ban as they would have moved on by then. If they inflicted a ban in the League many would have come out and said they were being punished in the League for a Cup offence.

The SFA couldn’t win in that case!!

Of course, this has brought out more comments from rent a quote QC Paul McBride, "Frankly, anybody with the tiniest brain could only regard them (the punishments) as being biased and prejudiced.

"They are not rational, they are not fair and they are not consistent in the way they have approached the matter with Neil Lennon and Celtic in general.

"And tonight I think people will be scratching their heads in amazement and disbelief at the way the SFA conduct their affairs and continue to conduct their affairs."

Not sure the views of Mr McBride are not biased or prejudiced, given his recent run of comments!! (should that all be allegedly!!)
