United set to lose two in the Summer?

Reports tonight say Dundee United could be about to lost two of their midfield stalwarts in the summer.

The agent for Margaro Gomis and Prince Buaben has stated there are clubs in the Championship, League One and the SPL who are interested in the midfield pairing. One of the clubs being linked is meant to be newly promoted Brighton.

This is hardly surprising, when these two are in the team there is no doubt United are a better side, given the power these two provide. This can help drive the team forward while they have the ability to defend as well.

This may not be too much of a problem for United who are allegedly looking to drastically reduce their wage bill in the summer, given the high level of debt they are currently carrying.

If these two go there is no doubt they won’t be the last, stories linking Goodwillie to Rangers won’t go away, although it would be interesting to see if they would come up with a transfer fee.

There will also be interest in Conway and Swanson in the summer, who would also command decent transfer fees which would help reduce the Tannadice debt.

There is no doubt the squad that lines up for United on the SPL opening day in July will be much different from the current one.
